Magellan Yacht Systems ("the App") is a yacht maintenance and fleet management application developed by Robert Risher. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

• Email address (used for login and account identification)
• Password (stored securely via Supabase authentication, never stored in plain text)

• Vessel information (names, specifications, engine hours)
• Maintenance records and service logs
• Crew member information and certifications
• Voyage plans and ship's log entries
• Fuel bunkering records
• ISM safety records
• Equipment and document records
• Contact information for marina and service providers

• App version and build number (for update checking)
• Device type (Mac or iPad) for display optimization

• Contacts from your device

• To provide the core functionality of the App
• To sync your data across your devices via secure cloud storage
• To send you update notifications when new versions are available
• We do not sell your data to third parties
• We do not use your data for advertising
• We do not share your data with any third parties except as described below

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (supabase.com), a secure cloud database platform. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Each user's data is isolated and inaccessible to other users via row-level security policies.

Weather data is fetched from OpenWeatherMap (openweathermap.org). No personal data is sent to OpenWeatherMap — only a location name you choose.

Tide data is fetched from the NOAA Tides & Currents API (tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov). No personal data is sent to NOAA.

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at the email below. Data will be permanently deleted within 30 days of your request.

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
• Encrypted data storage
• Secure authentication via Supabase Auth
• Row-level security ensuring users can only access their own data
• No storage of passwords in plain text

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your data (available via the Reports feature in the App)

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the App. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
